Here's what we've been up to lately.

She was a little sad in this photo because I made her hold still long enough to get some pig tails in.  (Yes, that's the fire truck she is pushing in the photo).  The piggies looked really cute at church for the whole 20 minutes they were in.

If she can walk behind it, ride it, climb it or swing on it...she's loving it.  You might have noticed a little red fire truck trend going on here.  We have to tell Camilla that the fire truck went to bed at the end of the day and then we hide it behind the couch.  She might love the fire truck as much as she loves the dog, well almost.

One of the things I love most about having Camilla in our family is all of the parks and walks we enjoy.  We tried somewhere new this past Sunday and we found a beautiful little waterfall.

I know you all needed a Camilla tongue update.  Yes, she still lets it wag on a regular basis.  So cute!

Elspeth's 2nd Birthday

Friday October 5th, 2012 would have been Elspeth's 2nd birthday.  We decided to have a quiet, low key family celebration this year.  We had planned on taking a picnic out to the cemetery for the afternoon while reminiscing about her life and birth.  A cold front this weekend and Camilla coming down with a pretty serious cold derailed our plans but we still enjoyed spending some time changing out the flowers on her grave stone and taking a few moments to appreciate her.

This is how Camilla spent Elspeth's birthday party.  Poor baby, she has been really sick this weekend.

I had a lot of anticipation for a the past couple of months about Elspeth's birthday.  I'm not really sure why, but I suspect it has to do with Camilla.  With Camilla here, I have thought a lot about how much we missed out with Elspeth and how fun it would be to have both girls playing together.  It would have been very busy with a 2 year old and a ten month old but I know we would have made it work.  At the same time with Camilla now in our family, I have felt Elspeth's presence near much more often than ever before.

It's like the Lord knew exactly what Ryan and I needed because on Saturday's afternoon session of General Conference there was a talk just for us.  The speaker quoted a phrase I have even said several times in the past couple of days..."I have been robbed!"  He really put things in perspective for me.  I'm thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows me, knows my struggles and sends servants to share messages with me just when I need them.  I still miss Elspeth terribly, but I know that she will be mine again someday.  Someday soon.

I miss you Elspeth.  You are special to our family.  You will always be mine.  I love you.  Happy Birthday.

10 months Camilla

This little lady is busy!  She's very interested in practicing walking, exploring, dogs, being outdoors, taking baths, shoe laces and touching anything that she shouldn't like electrical cords and outlets.  She's making lots of basic words sounds like "mama, dada, gaga, baba" etc.  She can climb up onto the ottoman and I'm sure her climbing days are just beginning.  This past month she has started to bob up and down to music as well.  Camilla has 3 teeth, 2 on bottom and 1 on top.  She loves reading time at night because I let her turn the pages.

Ryan and I have talked a lot about Camilla's laugh.  It's sometimes difficult to crack a laugh out of her, but I think the reason why is because she's just so interested in everything around her.  It's like she's constantly studying everything in her world just soaking it all in and processing it.  When she does reward us with a laugh it makes all of our antics worth while.

I can't believe she will be one year old in only 2 short months!
