Anniversary

Last year we decided that we were going to rotate planning our anniversary. This way at least one of us gets a surprise. It was my turn to plan so I decided that we should celebrate our 8th anniversary by doing something we have never done before. We went to the Cinema Suites at the AMC movie theatre. Oh yes, we were VIP's for just one night as we sat in cozy recliners, ordered tasty food and watched the much anticipated movie "The Hunger Games" without lifting a finger.

Onto Camilla news. This baby is getting ready to roll over. She's just a little rolling pin, rolling from side to side but not completing the deal. She'll be there soon. She gave me her first giggle on the 22nd of this month. It completely suprised me and I spent the rest of the day trying to coax out another chuckle. She really only laughs when she sees my reaction to her stinky diapers. We're starting the potty humor early around here.

"Aunt" Celeste watches Camilla on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while I am at work. Camilla loves with her oldest, Olivia (9), which I think is a mutual feeling. One of the many luxuries of having Celeste care for Camilla is the photos that get texted to me during the day. It helps me stay connected while I am at work and just puts a smile on my face.

The toy Camilla is playing with is from IKEA. Oh IKEA, why don't you come to Kansas City?

Camilla at 3 months

Camilla is now 3 months, and I went back to work. It's not my ideal situation, but we are both making the best of it. Thankfully, I was able to minimize my work schedule so we can spend as much time together as possible. I miss her terribly all day and I am pretty sure she misses me too. There's not too many rewards being a mother but it all pays off to see how excited she is when I come home, we just hold each other for sometimes a couple of hours.

It surprised me how sad it made me to put away the newborn clothes that she has grown out of. I couldn't stand to put away the outfit she came home from the hospital in, so I hung it up in her room for me to remember how tiny she once was.

We're looking forward to the next 3 months!

Blessing

Sunday February 19th 2012 was Camilla's blessing day at church. We enjoyed sharing the day with family and friends as we celebrated Camilla's birth and how special she is to our family.

I pulled off a delicious luncheon afterwards so everyone could eat and chat and enjoy the day. A success!
