St. Louis
We braved our first road trip with Camilla and went to St. Louis for the weekend. Camilla did great in the car (whew!) and we had a great time attending the temple and checking out the City Museum and local cuisine.
Well, let's just say the term "local cuisine" is being used a little loosely. The true winner was a place called Fitz's where they bottle their own root beer and other sodas. We had a great time tasting all of the different sodas they bottle right there. The loser? Imo's St. Louis style pizza. You might ask, what is St. Louis style pizza? Thin crust, sauce that tastes like spaghetti-o's, and provel cheese. Yes, provel cheese. Apparently provel cheese is a blend of swiss, cheddar and mozerella. According to wikipedia it's really only popular in St. Louis. In my family we would refer to Imo's pizza as a Delmonico's (a.k.a. disgusting).
The big event of the trip was to attend the temple. It's was peaceful and so nice to attend there one last time before our temple opens up soon! We stayed an extra day and spent Saturday at City Museum, which really isn't a museum at all. To take Celeste's words, it's more like a pyschedelic jungle gym. It hosts indoor caves, tree houses, gigantic ball pits, acrobats, a 10 story slide and things to climb, crawl through and explore everywhere. Let's just say, we were very sore the next day.
Thanks to Celeste for the photos, my camera is broken on my phone.
